UNIVEST PREPRESS is a subdivision of "Univest Marketing" company, founded on June 28, 1994.

On January 1, 1995 "Univest Marketing" created its own design studio (5 computers with Intel-486 and monitors Sony-15sf, one of the first in Ukraine Apple digital camera and Wacom graphics tablet, purchased under contract from the U.S.), which later grew up into a repro center (first set of equipment – imagesetters AGFA SelectSet 7000 and laminator with vacuum frame for making analog color proof – was installed in September 1995, and then – a professional slide scanner Leafscan).

First projects: advertising layouts for “Propozitsіya” magazine, promotional products for companies Monsanto and Bayer, layout and prepress of one of the first full-color glossy magazine of the highest category LOOKS ( “Euromedia” publishing house), style solution and graphic concept of “Ohorodnik” magazine (the most productive sunscription publication of Ukraine).

Within a very short period, the unit becomes one of the leading repro houses of Ukraine and a design studio providing services in the design of printed products for dozens of major companies. In 1997, Drum Scanner ICG-355i and one more imagesetter have been purchased for the repro house. On the basis of our group,  a Sales Department for prepress services has been founded, and further, with the increase of “Univest Marketing” printing house – for products for which prepress is done by our professionals.

In 1998, all printing production is separated to the brand “Univest Print” (its corporate style is created by our design studio.) In March 2000, “Univest Marketing” completes construction of its own office building at 44b Dmitrievska str., where all units of the company move (except for printing house).

In 2000-2001, significant investments are made in Repro House equipment. The following is installed: a fully automated complex on the base of imagesetter of drum type of the highest class B1 Agfa Avantra 44S, workflow system of Prepress Agfa Apogee s.2 (as of today it is upgraded to the latest development announced at DRUPA-2004, Agfa ApogeeX v.2), complex of analog color proof Imation MatchPrint (as of today it is the highest standard class), 1st (today there are 3) set of digital color proof on the base of BestColor, large format printer Agfa Sherpa, professional flatbed scanner Scitex EverSmart, professional film scanner Minolta Dimage Scan, Barco monitors.

Throughout these years the business of prepress services provided by our company, continues to grow and today we consider it a great achievement that only about half of the work performed by our prepress specialists is the orders from other company units (“Univest Print”, “Univest Media”), all the rest are from other printing houses, publishing houses, and advertising agencies. The successful work of “Univest PrePress” to a large extent is possible due to a team of specialists who have creative and original approach to work.

In September 2002, PrePress Bureau becomes an independent division of “Univest Marketing” and works in the market of professional services in:

• Design and layout
• Photography
• Scanning and color correction
• Pre-press publications
• Color separation and production of photoforms
• Production of analog and digital color proofs
• Digital small format and large format printing

This step enables us to use the most of the gained experiences and opportunities in solving difficult tasks in prepress processes.

In 2003, a new customer – “Metro Cash & Carry Ukraine” – becomes one of the main clients of PPB, being rendered with a full range of prepress services: photography, scanning, design and layout of promotional materials, color separation. We start cooperation with major publishers “Intependent Media” (magazines “Cosmopolitan”, “FHM” and “Men’s Health”) and “Burda” (“Good Advices,” “My Child,” “Oops!”) on prepress finalizing of publications.

In November 2003, a Photo Studio is opened in the new office (studio area is 50 sq.m). It is equipped with all necessary professional equipment Nikon, Mamiya, Hensel, and Manfrotto. We produce digital and analog photography advertising, modeling, staging, interior of any complexity in our studio and on -site (all over Ukraine). Our experts will help you professionally prepare photography results for producing printed products.

In September 2004, the range of services provided by our company is expanding with the opening of a new trend of Digital printing. We run an instant printery on the base of Xerox DC12 and various finishing equipment for production of urgent short runs.

Besides, in September 2004, a complex for direct display of forms on CTP Agfa Gallileo VXT is launched in “Univest Print” printing house, which expanded our capabilities and allowed us establish new quality and efficiency standards.

In March 2006, “Univest PrePress” expands its digital printing division. We have launched our own complex of large format printing on the base of printer Scitex Vision XLJet Premium 3 +. The company offers its clients comprehensive support in all prepress services and digital printing of any format from a single source.

In 2007, a new for Ukraine digital industrial machine HP Indigo-5500 is installed. It prints on sheets of up to 317 * 450mm format and up to 350g/m2 density with a maximum speed of 2 thousand liters/hr. Commonly, this technology is called, “digital offset printing.”

2010 - The printing park of “Large format printing” is equipped entirely with new machinery of leading brands HP, Scitex, Mimaki, OCE.
