Color Proof is an important technological product in manufacturing printed materials. At the stage of creating color proofs we can verify the correctness of color separation before printing the circulation, thereby avoid considerable expenses caused by possible prepress errors.

Having received a color proof, you have the opportunity to see your work “in color” before the circulation is printed (taking into account technological peculiarities of printing) and, if necessary, make corrections to the layout.

You can require the printing house, which carries out your work, to correspond completely with the color proof and use it when checking the resulting copies. Today, at our Repro House you can order both digital and analog color proofs.

Thanks to the used technologies, we offer several types of color proofs: Standardized Digital color proof; “Designer’s” Digital color proof; Analog color proof on the base of Kodak Imation Matchprint technology; Printed proof, printed on an offset digital printing machine HP Indigo.

Standardized digital proof or contract proof imitates rendition of color or the print, which is printed as per ISO standard (for sheet printing on coated or uncoated paper, for roll offset), Matchprint or printing house own standard (our specialists are ready to perform a full range of services for such setting). Imitation of paper whiteness is possible. Due to the wide color coverage of the printing device, we can imitate up to 95% of the colors from the Pantone set.

Control scale UGRA / FOGRA Media Wedge is located on the color proof. The scale is measured on each standardized color proof, a report on the results of color proof compliance with the standard is printed in the form of a sticker. There are permissions for deviations from the reference values in accordance with standard ISO-12647-7: 2007, and also technical conditions of color proof creation, conditions of viewing and measurements, names of equipment, materials, imitating printing conditions are stated.

To control the conditions of external lighting, the proof is accompanied by a special indicator of color temperature matching, 5000 K (standard viewing conditions).

Designer’s Digital color proof is used for preliminary evaluation of color by the designer, it imitates ISO and Matchprint standards. Designer’s proof is printed on one type of paper without taking into account external factors and is a demonstration of performed work on the layout for further corrections to color to be made. You can check the color components of the layout even at the stage of its preparation

Licensing control scale for controlling quality of color proofs production

Analog color proof is one of the oldest types of color proofs, which still due to its popularity in this country, is supported by us, but is being less supported by manufacturers of consumables. This is a complex physical-chemical process that imitates the work of the printing press, including the order of applying paint.

The Color proof if made from usual photoforms used in the process of creating the offset printing plates. The main limitation is the imitation of only one print standard, not taking into account the color of the paper.

The printed color proof or test-printed sample. The essential difference from the standard analog and digital color proof is that test-printed sample is a completely offset copy, printed on an offset digital printing machine.

Among the advantages of this type of proof we can point out the following:

• a raster;
• the ability to print on production paper (including self-adhesive, designer’s and other “non-absorbent” materials that are non-reproducible for other types of proofs);
• the possibility to use white paint and protective varnish (including selectively);
• lineature of printing (230 lpi).
